About

Hiroto SuzukiPartner | Int’l Associate AIA

5 things you need to know about me ...and 5 things you don't

1. Made in JAPAN

Hiroto joined Peter Vincent Architects in 1998 and has been a partner since 2000. He is a principal designer for many of the firm’s hospitality projects and has received numerous awards for his work in this industry.

2. Local Taste

Hiroto is a native of Kyoto, Japan, where his reputation is considerable and his work sought after by Japanese who are developing projects in Japan, Honolulu and New York. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from Kansai University in Osaka, Japan and is a registered architect in Japan and an international associate member of the American Institute of Architects.

3. And the Award Goes to…

Prior to joining Peter Vincent Architects, Hiroto worked at several prestigious Honolulu firms featuring international work, including China. At PVA, his projects include the Kapolei Golf Course Clubhouse, Rokkaku Authentic Japanese Cuisine, the U.S.’s first Loree Rodkin jewelry store and the Waikiki Gateway Hotel.

4. Around the World

Has over 20 years of international design practice from the U.S., Japan, China and Hong Kong.

5. Artistically Inspired

Hiroto’s designs do not usually originate from typical architectural concepts, but rather by fashion, art, music and other creative media.

1. Flying Future

He was determined to move to the US when he first visited in 1983 to participate in the World Flying Disc Championship in Santa Cruz, California. He still holds the Hawaii State Record for M.T.A. (Maximum Time Aloft) according to the World Flying Disc Federation.

2. “Woo-hoo”!

He is a collector of the Pillsbury Doughboy Family figures. He has collected all of them except for one… the “Uncle” (the one with the yellow hat).

3. Guitarless Rockstar

People say he's a rockstar from his fashionable attire and karaoke skills, but he has yet to uphold this title by performing on stage in front of a live audience.

4. Say Cheese!

Loves photography and video editing.

5. Once He Starts, He Can’t Stop

He enjoys drinking with good company… but he is definitely NOT a social drinker.
